City: It was the imperial palaces of the Ming
and Qing dynasties, now known as the Palace Museum.
Located at the exact center of Beijing, Forbidden
City is the largest and best-preserved collection
of ancient buildings in China, covering a floor
space of 720,000 square meters, and having 9,999
Square: The square, measuring 880 meters from
north to south and 500 meters from west to east,
is seated at the center of Beijing. Tiananmen Gate
on the northern edge of the square used to be the
front gate of Forbidden City - the imperial palace
of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Around Tiananmen Square,
tourist can find National Museum of China, Great
Hall of the People, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall
and Monument to the People's Heroes.
Hills Park: Built in 1186 during Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) as an imperial garden, it covers 1.6 square meters and consists of a natural pine-cypress forest, hills with maple trees and persimmon trees, as well as landscaped areas with traditional architecture and cultural relics. Fragrant Hills Park is one of the major tourist attractions in Beijing, especially during autumn, where the natural scenery displays fiery red smoke tree leaves covering the mountainside. The annual Red Leaf Festival is held here. Every year, thousands of tourists ride cable cars through the park.
Palace: Initially built in 1750 by Emperor Qianglong
of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), it is the most celebrated
imperial garden in China. The Summer Palace covers
an area of 290 hectares (717 acres) and holds over
3000 houses. The palace features hundreds of architecturally
distinct buildings, temples, halls, pavilions, pagodas,
bridges and corridors dispersed among magnificent
and elegant gardens.
After breakfast, take an excursion
to the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Ming Tombs.
Great Wall: Located in Huairou County in the
suburbs of Beijing, the section of wall at Mutianyu
Great Wall is 70 km from the center of Beijing.
Connected with Juyong Pass in the west and Gubeikou
in the east, it is one of the best preserved parts
of the Great Wall and was originally set up to
attract some of the crowds away from Badaling.
Tombs: As one of the most popular attractions
in Beijing, Ming Tombs are located 50 kilometers
northwest of Beijing. They were built within a
natural basin, butted on two sides by the Yanshan
Mountain Range, which was said to stop winds carrying
evil spirits into the area. Ming Tombs are typical
examples of Chinese emperors' mausoleums and the
best testimony of China's long history and civilization.
Dingling Tomb, also known as the Underground Palace,
is the first imperial tomb to have been excavated
in China. While Changling Tomb was the first and
largest one built in the area.
Tour to Tanzhe Temple and
Temple of Heaven.
Temple: With a history of more than 1,600 years, it is one of the oldest temples in Beijing. The entire temple covers 25,000 square meters, the existing buildings were mainly built in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. The region around Tanzhe Temple features lush vegetation with many old trees and flowers. A magnificent view of a beautiful natural environment greets all tourists.

decided 560 years ago to build a temple where the
emperors could worship heaven, a ritual which he
hoped would serve to perpetuate imperial rule, the
result was the Temple of Heaven. Situated in southern
Beijing, the Temple of Heaven park covers 273 hectares,
its main structures are two groups of buildings
on a north-south axis. The temple buildings and
surrounding area make up one of the largest public
parks in Beijing.

is passed on from Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). It reflects
the real face of Beijing, and each lane has its

city in China that has them. There used to be thousands
of hutongs, lanes, alleys and courtyards in Beijing,
