Hutong: Beijing Hutongs are alleys formed by lines of courtyards, they has a history of more than 700 years, which is passed on from Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). It reflects the real face of Beijing, and each lane has its own exciting story. So In many people's minds, Beijing is associated with hutongs. Beijing is the only city in China that has them. Beijing Zoo: The largest and earliest zoo in China which covers an area of 89 hectares (220 acres), home to over 7,000 animals of more than 600 species including panda, tigers, bears, elephants, zebras, monkeys, and many exotic birds. The zoo was built in 1906 and opened to the public in 1908 with an area of about 10 hectares and a few humble pavilions to house the animals. It is comprised of 16 different exhibition areas and halls. One of the most popular of these is the Panda Hall. Don't miss the small Red Pandas in the trees as you exit. If you have never seen a Panda don't miss the opportunity.
Yonghegong Lama Temple: The lamasery was built in 1694. The temple's bell tower is the first structure reached after passing through the front gates, but the huge bell itself has been placed outside the tower for all to see.
